A man has been killed after being hit with a projectile shot from a crossbow outside a library in Toronto's east end.
The incident happened around 4:30 p.m. Thursday outside the Main Street Library, located just south of Gerrard Street East, Toronto Emergency Services said.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene after being hit by the projectile, known as a bolt, police told CBC News.
Police officers saw a man run northbound on Main Street after the incident. He jumped into a U-Haul truck and drove off, police said.
Police tracked the truck, located it in Scarborough and arrested the driver.
No further details were immediately available.
