Defence Minister Peter MacKay will announce a royal name change for Canada's navy and air force Tuesday, in a move that taps Canada's military heritage.
The army, formally known as the Land Force Command, will also be renamed the Canadian Army. The Maritime Command and Air Command will again be known as the Royal Canadian Navy and Royal Canadian Air Force — names that haven't been used in more than three decades.
