CP24 and awful web design
Behold the new CP24 website.
It's a news site folks, but you'd never know that by looking at it.
Besides being an ill conceived design (or perhaps a brilliant recreation of website design circa 1997, with just a touch of Powerpoint), it has been so dummied down and festooned with ads. I guess they think all Torontonians need are weather, traffic and stocks...why not just add condo listings and be done with it.
Vital information about world events to inform and enlighten an engaged public? Fuck that, now just drive to work, produce and don't worry your pretty little head about the world.
It's all being taken care of.
A comment from another site states:
Not that anyone really cares, but it would make me feel better to let everyone know that the CHUM developers who now work for CTV have nothing at all to do with this CP24 site.
We tried to get involved, we tried to help but they would not hear it so now all we can do is sit back and laugh (to keep ourselves from crying of course).
or
Just like with citynews.ca, the TV people called the shots on site design and usability with no clue about either. The good folks in the web department are allowed little or no input.
