Toronto all out of joint because the Royals are avoiding it like the plague

We're world class! We are! We are....hello, anyone there?

Last summer, Toronto got broken windows, batons and a G20 battle royale. This year, the city is getting the royal brush-off.

Prince William and longtime girlfriend Catherine Middleton will marry on April 29 and for their first overseas tour as husband and wife, they will visit Canada from June 30 through July 8.

Their stops will include Ottawa (for Canada Day), Alberta, Prince Edward Island, the Northwest Territories and Quebec, which is known to receive royal visitors with protest and demonstrations.

Conspicuously absent from the itinerary is Canada’s largest city — and the omission wasn’t just noticed by Torontonians.

“I’m shocked,” remarked Judy Wade, the royals expert and editor for Hello! Magazine in London. “I thought for sure they’d go to Toronto and I thought they’d be in the Royal York hotel. Very strange.”

So who is responsible for the snub?
