Deal to keep Hockey Night theme song falls through

CBC has just perpetrated a crime of epic proportions today against the culture of Canada, something they themselves are supposed to protect.

Shame on the CBC and the heartless bastards there that let this happen. Canada turns a cold eye towards you.

That a corporation thinks it can take it upon itself to rip out a piece of our culture and history over the dollar sign earns my undying contempt.

This, above all, is what the Harper era will be remembered for.

Negotiations to keep the Hockey Night in Canada theme song have collapsed, meaning the program is now in search of another anthem, CBC News has learned.

Copyright Music & Visuals, the Toronto agency representing the song's composer, owner and administrator Dolores Claman said on Friday that the deal had fallen through.
