After more than two decades in disrepair, residents of the Golden Square Mile are adamant that the Redpath Mansion should be restored and not replaced by a condominium. At a public consultation last night, residents of du Musee Ave. and nearby streets told the city's planning officials and the owners of the property that the proposed new building does not fit in with the character of the block.
"It's monstrous," one woman at the back of the room said under her breath as a three-dimensional perspective of the proposed seven-storey building at 3455-3457 du Musee Ave. was displayed on the overhead screen.
