Behind an apartment building at 605 Whiteside Place is The Dreamers Peace Garden, an homage to lives lost in violent crimes in Regent Park and a symbol of hope for the future.
But in front, a pool of blood and police tape show that violence still plagues one of Toronto’s most troubled communities.
Sealand White, 15, and Jermaine Derby, 19, are dead after being gunned down in Regent Park. It’s the city’s second double homicide in as many weeks.
