Last week, I was in a car with my brother and his fiancee, driving through their upscale neighborhood on a hot summer day. At the corner, we all noticed three little girls sitting at a homemade lemonade stand...
...my brother asked how much each item cost.
"Oh, no," they replied in unison, "they're all free!"
I sat in the back seat in shock. Free?...
...No wonder America is getting it all wrong when it comes to government, and taxes, and policy. We all act as if the "lemonade" or benefits we're "giving away" is free.
And so the voters demand more -- more subsidies for mortgages, more bailouts, more loan modification and longer periods of unemployment benefits.
They're all very nice. But these things aren't free.

One Warner Todd Huston is one such moron, and a good example why conservatives are disliked outside their tight knit circle:
It is a lemonade stand, yes. But Terry Savage is wholly right to despise these idiot girls and their Mexican nanny. These kids were learning the WRONG message and their parents should be excoriated for it.
Yup, he had to get a racial dig in there too. Why you may ask?
I admit my stab at the unspoken nationality of the nanny was meant for shock value....come on, it’s the ritzy suburbs of Chicago that Savage was talking about. They don’t HAVE any legal citizens as “nannies” there. It is assured she is from south of the border somewhere!
Mister Huston is the kind of person you set the hounds on if he entered your property.
