Dalton McGuinty: Sure your rights were trampled, now get over it

Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty said today that a public inquiry into G20 police actions is unnecessary.

My shock know no bounds.

"In hindsight, I think that we could have — and probably should have — done something to make it perfectly clear to people what we were actually talking about," he said Friday.

Translation: We took away your democratic right to protest. Oh sorry, didn't we tell you?

the Progressive Conservatives dismissed the idea as a waste of time and money.

One Billion Dollars was ok to spend on the G20, but not a dime to protect citizen's rights!

The predictability of this should surprise no one. Nothing will ever come of this. The powers that be will ride this one out, demonize the protesters and hope the public forgets or just doesn't care.

And in the long run, the majority probably don't. The politicians know the majority is apathetic if you keep them fat and entertained. Just keep the latest TV shows coming, and lalalalala....
