Toronto as armed camp bad for business? Who'd have thought?

As our politicians wax prophetic about how the G20 summit will “showcase” Toronto to the world, it seems hard to fathom that a city without the CN Tower, without the Blue Jays, without Mirvish musicals and without train service is what they had in mind.

At almost every opportunity, federal and municipal government representatives have enjoyed extolling the “world class” tourism attractions of Canada’s largest city with seemingly little thought given to just how disruptive security measures will be to the very businesses and downtown hotspots that are supposed to “put Toronto on the map.”
