Density Idiots

Defenders of the now threatened Bloor 1 project are a curious lot.

...traffic congestion in the city is primarily a result of low, not high, density planning. The only way to reduce congestion is to allow for mass transit and other forms of transportation (walking, biking, scooters, etc…). And the only way to make these work are to have appropriate (ie. high enough) density levels...

...if there is one intersection in Toronto that can be called the centre of this fine city, it’s this one, Yonge & Bloor. It’s at the intersection of two subway lines and it’s one of the most desirable areas in the city. Come to think of it, 80 storeys may not even be tall enough.

The torrent of illogic exhibited in those 2 paragraphs is entertaining enough, but read more here, and wonder no longer why Toronto is the soulless beauty it is today.

Thanks for the link.

I'd be curious to hear why you disagree with my points.
