A military court in Egypt has sentenced an internet activist to three years in jail for criticising the armed forces.
Maikel Nabil was arrested last month for blogs that criticised the army's role during anti-government protests.
The 26-year-old is thought to be the first blogger jailed in Egypt since the ousting of President Hosni Mubarak.
Activists said the trial set a dangerous precedent at a time when Egypt was trying to move away from the alleged abuses of the Mubarak era.

"Baby Doc" Duvalier. Sometimes rats return to a sinking ship
The former president of Haiti, Jean-Claude Duvalier, has returned to the country, 25 years after he was overthrown by a popular revolt.
Mr Duvalier, 59, also known as "Baby Doc", arrived on a flight from France where he had been living in exile.
It was not clear what prompted his return, though he said he wanted "to help the people of Haiti" following last year's devastating earthquake.
He arrived amid political uncertainty after disputed presidential elections.
Prime Minister Jean-Max Bellerive said there was no reason to believe Mr Duvalier's return would destabilise the country.
"He is a Haitian and, as such, is free to return home," said Mr Bellerive.
Mr. Bellerive seems to forget Duvalier was chased out of the country...

Northern Secondary School: Tinpot Dictators of the Day
Yet another school forgetting, or ignoring, that students are people and should be treated as such.
If we've learned anything this week, it's that people in power hate being embarrassed or challenged.

A Toronto teen says he is incredulous that he was suspended after publicly criticizing his high school for what he calls inadequate support for his soccer team.
Speaking at a Nov. 22 assembly at Northern Secondary School that was supposed to be a celebration of the school's athletic achievements, Emil Cohen said: "We now have it instilled into us that soccer [at Northern] is synonymous with the word 'unnecessary.'"
Cohen, 17, said he was upset that students had to take it upon themselves this year to "to do the phys ed department's job to find a coach" for the school's team. In past years, the team also had to supply most of its own equipment and was frequently forced to cede use of the school's field to the football team, he said.
The day after his speech, Cohen was suspended for two days and was barred from all sporting activities at the school.
"The first words out of my mouth were: 'Are you serious?' Because I couldn't believe that this warrants a suspension," said Cohen, who has served the suspension.
The Toronto District School Board superintendent for the area said Cohen disobeyed the rule that speeches before the school body must be approved in advance by staff. The teen didn't follow the directions of a teacher who advised him to amend his speech, said Ian Allison.

Idiot judge Talmadge Littlejohn unclear on what freedom means

Attorney Danny Lampley of Oxford was out of the Lee County Jail after more than 4 1/2 hours of thinking about why he refused to recite the U.S. Pledge of Allegiance today.
Chancellor Talmadge Littlejohn ordered Lampley jailed shortly after court began in Tupelo this morning.
Eyewitnesses said Littlejohn asked the court audience to rise and repeat the pledge. Lampley rose but failed to vocalize the words to the pledge, an act he has done before, apparently to the judge's consternation.
Jail records show Lampley was brought in about 9:40 a.m. and released about 2:30 p.m. on the judge's orders.
They both were back in chancery court during the afternoon.
